Foggy Morning and some small prettys

This little spot is new to us and will be our home for the next week or two while working for Conoco Phillips.
Lisa took some nice pics of the foggy ambience this morning.  by the way, isn't the title of this Post excellent.  Kind of drives me crazy coming up with what I think are trendy, trendy in my own mind anyway.

The first thing we found out about this location, F Malik on 1091 FM Road about 6 miles East of Whitsett, Texas is that it is a lot greener than our previous location, discounting our Beach retreat.

Hey, it's not Yellowstone but Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the flora and scenery around here are kind of nice.  This is the Texas countryside after all.   The Autumn like 95 degrees is almost a relief as well.

This old weed needs a little less fertilizer and a lot more water.  New toy being a freaking ladder that I can get to the top of this old RV without bustin my ass and actually heavy duty enough so that well, I won't bust my ass.

Hey, Ur not supposed to look like you did in your twenties.

Anyway's Nice.  I like what goes on in my Wife's head when she takes these.

A side of her that I love immensely.

And finally the sound on this video is fairly corrupted by the sound of our Diesel Gen, which becomes almost invisible to us after a while, but shows our real time environment.  This is what it is like going to work for us.  Gotta say, beats workin for the State by a landslide.

Here today, gone tomorrow

Mission accomplished.  In a period of three short weeks, Lisa and I were married.  Took a quickie trip to Los Algadones for some overdue dental work and speaking for myself, a good bit of fishing on the south Jettie at Port Aransas though I am still without that elusive big red. I was just talking about taking the Ferry to San Jose, Island when we got the call.  A frenetic twelve hours of going to HEB, filling both the vehicles and getting up a two thirty in the morning followed.  Then a four hour drive, narrowly missing rush hour at Corpus Christi  to show up at a location roughly seventy miles North of San Antonio.

So the past couple of weeks...
Took this short video of the flooded beach as a result of Ingrid which landed about 400 miles to the South of us.

And....

Hiding out from the mosquitos. This is where we spent the last couple of weeks.  Other side of the berm is the beach.

                                The Beach

The various repair jobs.  Window was leaking and had to reseal.  I have had amazing luck with sealing the many leaks this little trailer has sprung since we got here.  Gotta say though, after listening to folks grumble at Camping World recently, our problems have been nothing.
So I had to repair or fix nothings with the toilet, TV antenna and air conditioner as well.

Boring short while waiting in the Ferry Line at Port Aransas.

Where we are now and

and

Overhead view
                                                                    And

....Where we were, where we came from and where we are now

In the meantime a very very poor substitute for Fred.  Our first friend.

Til next time....

Oh, and one more thing.....

After about ten years, the beard is gone.  Long live the moustache.   Things you have to do for a buck.

A little Cheese with that Whine

So God finally heard me complaining about the fishing recently and last night it finally paid off.  Killed them from the Jetty.   OK, so lady fish are not all that good eating and I threw them back.  Still excitement enough catching several, of which two were in the three to four pound range.  Amazing fighters and cool when they jump.  I have also watched a couple of twenty something kids catch three Bull reds in a row within a two hour period, all in the thirty plus pound range. Also saw a guy catch a shark from the pier.   Sorry, no pictures again.  Think I am ready for that now.

Lisa and I are starting to look seriously at boats now too.  As that will be a necessary upgrade over the next couple of years for some serious fishing opportunities.  We were discussing this while riding the ferry to Port Aransas, with the windows down, with a nice salt air breeze, watching the Dolphins play, on a beautiful day as we were returning to our little trailer parked at the beach.  Kind of a tough life but somebody has to do it.

OK, just as I was getting seriously tired of Facebook, what with more politics than jokes coming up, I found myself scheming to get even with Subway.  OK, my beef is simple, so to speak, when I go to Subway once and get my all time favorite, alright everyone's favorite, Bacon, it really torques me when after the server puts a nice generous portion on the sandwich, the schmuck in charge, in front of god and me, removes all but four skinny slices on a twelve inch sandwich.  WTH.  (Clean version).  I asked her what gives?  She says, oh you would like "extra meat" to an extra buck charge of course.  Then she goes on to tell me this is the actual recipe for that sandwich.  Wrong.  I have ate Subway all over the country.  I know this sounds petty.  And I rarely set out to ruin a minimum wage worker's day if you don't count that clown from India who blew a horn in my ear while I was in the process of trying to cancel a credit card.  He's earned a broken nose.  If he ever comes over to the USA and if he ever comes up to me on the street and says, hello, I am the f#&%r from India who blew an air horn in your ear 45 minutes into trying to cancel a "very competitive rate" he told me, card. I am seriously going to punch that guy right in the nose.  Or the guy at Home Depot's evil stink eye look when I said "cheap Chinese crap" as the reason I was returning an item and he told me the computer did not have that category. Anyway, to the point, so in my passive aggressive way I wanted to get even with getting ripped off on the whole bacon thing.  I came up with FACEBOOK.  So I busted her on the Subway Facebook page, just as I have three other Subways.  I know it's petty, but it's my petty and thank you cousin Kate for the trigger fast like.

Couple more wonderful days at the beach and then it will be back to work.

Trade up

Since arriving in Texas something I'm not really used to has been occurring.  Finally I'm getting a little respect while driving my Bronco, judging by the number of people who have been asking me if I would be willing to sell.  And lose my newfound cockiness, not on your life.  I was kind of intrigued however by this little
beauty.  I'm thinking, well it is Texas afterall. Just look at those sleek lines

Checking out the interior of this Baby, well can anyone say "Corinthian".

And the sleek streamlined front of this new age beauty just compliments the rest.   Before I could even think of making an offer, somebody got in and drove off.

Next time I see it, I'll see if I can get a picture of the last space age engineering example we have seen.  A window air conditioner in the rear window of a van with a small Harbor freight generator put putting right underneath it.   Later, goin fishing.
